This development consists of 32 affordable residential 1, 2, and 3 bedroom units on a .94 acre undeveloped site. Site amenities include on-site vehicle and bicycle parking, landscaped shared open space, play area, and a one-story community building with management offices. A second parcel west of the development site provides 15 additional off-street parking stalls. The residential buildings consist of 3-story wood-framed “walk-up” style flats and townhomes over ground floor flats. The projects aesthetic is residential in nature, with a contemporary palette of materials and detailing. Gabled roofs echo the surrounding context, with sunshade and canopy elements to relate to the pedestrian scale. The facades are highly articulated with vertical and horizontal changes in plane and material to reduce the apparent mass along the right-of-way and create a lively streetscape. Site landscaping was designed under “Bay Friendly Landscaping” guidelines for durability and low water use.
